HOUSE MANAGER TRAINING RETURNS TO THEATRE TUSCALOOSA ACADEMY AHEAD OF THE BEAN-BROWN GRAND REOPENING

TUSCALOOSA, AL – Theatre Tuscaloosa Academy is hosting House Manager Training on June 29 in room 1944 on the Martin Campus of Shelton State Community College (9500 Old Greensboro Road, Tuscaloosa, AL 35405).

This special addition to the 2024-25 Season Academy line-up comes as the Bean-Brown Theatre Grand Reopening and “Anastasia” performances approach. As a result of the new space, all new and veteran house managers will be required to attend this training.

“The Bean-Brown theatre has had some exciting renovations done, and some things have changed,” Managing Director Adam Miller said. “We have a brand new seating map, the management and ticket office have been completely redone, and the lobby is getting a face-lift. With these changes we felt it was a good idea to require new training for all returning and future house managers.”

Participants will learn the ins and outs of how to train and lead ushers in providing superior service to Theatre Tuscaloosa patrons while ensuring their safety and security. This two-and-a-half hour training also includes a tour of the newly renovated Bean-Brown Theatre and other facilities at Theatre Tuscaloosa. Participants will receive their own personalized Theatre Tuscaloosa house manager name badge and the opportunity to sign-up for “Anastasia” house management sessions this July.

There is no charge to participate, and signing-up in advance is recommended. Those interested in becoming a new house manager with Theatre Tuscaloosa must have previously ushered or volunteered during a Theatre Tuscaloosa production. This training is mandatory for new and veteran house managers.

House Manager Training is offered June 29, 1:30-4 p.m. in room 1944 on the Martin Campus of Shelton State.
