Colonel Mustard, Mrs. Peacock, Professor Plum, and all your favorite board game murder suspects take to the stage in this hilarious and chilling whodunit based on both the Hasbro classic and the motion picture. At an unusual dinner party, a sordid assortment of deadly weapons find their way into the hands of our motley crew. When the host turns up dead, the guests use every campy clue at their disposal to riddle their way to the truth!

Looking for fearless actors who truly love to make people laugh. A spirit of playfulness, mischief, and madness is welcome.

Preparation: Please come prepared to read from all three SIDES (small excerpts from the script) that are included below. A physical copy of the sides will be available at the audition. The director will give you adjustments during your audition. Memorization of the sides is not required. There may also be improvised movement and acting. Please dress accordingly. 

​

  • Location: Wilson Carr Rehearsal Hall (Off the lobby of the Bean-Brown Theatre at Shelton State)

Cast of Characters

WADSWORTH (Male 30-60’s) any ethnicity. A traditional British butler in every sense: uptight, formal, and “by the book.” He is the driving force in the play. This is a physically demanding role.

YVETTE (Female 20-30’s) any ethnicity. A sexy, French maid, with her own secret aspirations.

​

COLONEL MUSTARD (Male 40-60’s) any ethnicity. A puffy, pompous, dense, blow-hard of a military man.

MRS. WHITE (Female 45-60’s) any ethnicity. A pale, morbid, and tragic woman. Mrs. White may or may not be the murderer of her five ex-husbands.

​

MRS. PEACOCK (Female 40-60’s) any ethnicity. The church-going wife of a Senator. A bit batty, neurotic, and quick to hysteria. This is a physically demanding role.

​

MR. GREEN (Male 30-40’s) any ethnicity. A timid, yet officious, rule follower. He’s a bit of a klutz and awfully anxious. This is a physically demanding role.

​

MISS SCARLET (Female 20-50) any ethnicity. A dry, sardonic D.C. Madam who is more interested in secrets than sex.

​

PROFESSOR PLUM (Male 40-60’s) any ethnicity. An academic Casanova who woos women with his big … brain.

​

FEMALE ENSEMBLE 1 (Female 25 to 40) any ethnicity. This is a physically demanding role.  Will play a number of smaller parts and may cover Principal roles. Including:

  • THE COOK, a gruff woman with a threatening presence. (Alive and Dead.) 

  • SINGING TELEGRAM GIRL, a tap dancer with a heart of gold. (Alive and Dead.)

  • AUXILIARY SCARLET, the back of Miss Scarlet during a scene of theatrical trickery.

  • BACKUP COP, backup for the Chief in the very final Cop entrance.

MALE ENSEMBLE 1 (Male 25 to 40) any ethnicity. This is a physically demanding role. Will play a number of smaller parts and may cover Principal roles. Including:

  • MR. BODDY, a slick, Frank Sinatra, film noir-esque type fella. (Alive and Dead.)

  • THE MOTORIST, a professional driver. (Alive and Dead.)

  • CHIEF OF POLICE, a cop who helps to save the day.

MALE ENSEMBLE 2 (Male 25 to 40) any ethnicity. This is a physically demanding role. Will play a number of smaller parts and may cover Principal roles. Including:

  • THE UNEXPECTED COP, a regular Joe. (Alive and Dead.)

  • BACKUP COP, backup for the Chief.

  • AUXILIARY MUSTARD, the back of Colonel Mustard during a scene of theatrical trickery.
