About the Course

Interested in auditioning for Home for the Holidays? This workshop is a great way to prepare! If you’ve ever felt intimidated by participating in a “musical / cold read” style audition, then sign up today. Participants will need to prepare a 1 minute cutting of a Christmas song. You may bring sheet music for the accompanist or an instrumental track. You’ll be given a variety of tips and tricks on how to "perform" the song and bring it to life. Then you’ll be provided with sample audition sides and given an opportunity to practice a "cold read" and receive personalized feedback on how to improve your technique.

Michael Walker

MICHAEL WALKER (he/him) is Theatre Tuscaloosa's new Executive Producer and will direct HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS. Prior to joining us here, he spent 11 years teaching acting and voice at the University of Montevallo and served as Chair of the theatre department for the past three years. He holds a BA in Theatre from UA and an MFA in Acting from Rutgers University. Michael was also a working actor and director in NYC for over 13 years. See our staff bios to learn more.
