About the Course

Step into the director’s chair for an inspiring one-day workshop led by Theatre Tuscaloosa's Executive Producer, Tina Turley. This hands-on workshop is perfect for aspiring and experienced directors alike, offering a rare opportunity to learn from one of the region’s most accomplished theatre professionals. Participants will explore key elements of the directing process, including script analysis, casting, working with actors, blocking, and bringing a unified artistic vision to the stage. Through interactive exercises, practical tips, and real-world insights, Tina will guide you in developing the skills and confidence needed to lead a production from concept to curtain call. Whether you’re a seasoned theatre practitioner or new to directing, this workshop will expand your understanding of the craft and empower your creative vision!

Tina Turley

Tina F. Turley has a diverse background in the arts. She had over 35 years of experience as a director, actor, writer, teacher and theater manager. She has been Executive Producer for Theatre Tuscaloosa since 2006. Turley served as Ticket Office Supervisor and Second Stage Coordinator for Theatre Tuscaloosa from 1997 to 1999.
