49th Season: Hollywood on Stage (Extended)

Spreading Joy Programming

We are extending our 49th season until July 2021, when we plan to close it with a glorious production of Mamma Mia! Until then, we'll be offering you some special programming designed to keep us connected in a responsible way. Here's what we've got planned:

Socially-Distanced Live Theatre

Theatre Tuscaloosa will be presenting a series of three plays from October through February. These "Spreading Joy" productions will have the following in common:

  • Small casts of 1 to 5 actors
  • Short performance times of less than 90 minutes
  • Short, one-weekend runs of 3 performances of each
  • Advanced ticket reservations by phone only
  • Pay-what-you-will donations only
  • Socially-distanced seating policies, arrival/departure procedures, and other health-promoting guidelines

Sundays Are for Singing, A Socially-Distanced Concert Series

Three "Sundays are for Singing" events will be presented as part of our "Spreading Joy" programming. These concerts will:

  • Feature one performer and one accompanist
  • Follow the same guidelines outlined above for live theatre events.

Masterclass Mondays Video Series

From now through spring 2021, we will premiere a new video every other Monday featuring Theatre Tuscaloosa performers, designers, directors, producers, and other alumni sharing their behind-the-scenes experiences of producing live theatre. These videos will premiere on our YouTube channel. Click here to connect now.
