Why do musicals cost more? Simply put, they are more expensive to produce. The royalties alone are typically 10 times more expensive than those for plays since there are often multiple creators to pay (playwright, composer, lyricist, etc.). Musicals often have more elaborate sets, costumes, sound, and lighting requirements, and since we use live musicians (rather than recorded tracks) to accompany our performers, we must also cover that expense. So, when you think about it, our musical prices are a bargain!
How can we get the group rate? Visit our Group Sales page for complete details on setting up a group sale.
Why isn't the SSCC Student rate available online? SSCC students receive the lowest price available thanks to our cooperative relationship with Shelton State. Because this price is about 1/3 of the price of regular tickets, this discount is only offered in-person at the ticket office so that we can check student IDs. One discounted ticket per show will be issued per current, official SSCC student ID.
